Welcome. This website has been created to honor the passed and living descendants of James Pennington. It is the result of my research into the genealogical heritage of the family patriarch James Pennington, who was born in the United Kingdom in 1832, lived in Kent County, Michigan, was a veteran of the Civil War, and died in 1903.

"My grandfather, James, came from Scotland when he was twelve years old and married Esther Inwood who came from England. They settled near Rockford, Michigan and raised a large family. James was called to the Union army in the Civil War, leaving his large family at home on a farm. My dad remembered his dad going to war."

Hazel Weller Van Aken, daughter of Sydney and Eva Ann (Pennington) Weller, had a genealogy written on her behalf in 1972. This Ahnentafel covers the Weller, Pennington, Haines, and Inwood families. Read here.
