Edith worked for a short time as a schoolteacher. She quit teaching to tend to her aging parents. As far as I know, she never went back to teaching.
Ruth Pennington remembers visiting the house post Edith's death with several women who went through Edith's belongings. The current occupant of the home found the above oil painting hidden within a closet nook. The painting still adorns the Bowne Township home's walls.
Edith Maud Pennington was the baby in the family. Born 6 Sept 1877, Edith died on the 27th of January, 1962. She was 84.
Edith lived alone after her brother Oliver's death at her home off Timpson. She was found in the kitchen of the old farm house by the mail man. Apparently she did not die here. As the obituary and her death certificate states, Edith was promptly moved to the Lowell Rest Home where she lived a short 10 days before passing.
