Oliver H. Pennington
Oliver H. was born on 10 Nov. 1971, the same year Oliver S. and Hattie died. I am going to take a guess that the "H" stands for Hattie. Oliver alludes me as to why he never married. He really was a nice looking chap. Oliver moved far from the Cannon farm into Bowne Township - south of Alto. There he purchased a 120-acre farm which he farmed the remainder of his life. His sister Edith lived with him and kept house. Later, after James died, Esther Maud (their mother) came to live with them for 20 years until her passing. Likewise, his younger brother Clarence stayed with him for a short while until his passing.
Post-1905, after the death of James Pennington, the Oliver Pennington farm served as the focal point for the Pennington family. The home, according to the Bowne Township secretary, was built around 1880. It has 1,000sf on the main floor and 984sf on the 2nd.
Oliver died on 3 Aug 1956 from probable Coronary Thrombosis. He is buried at the Bowne Center Cemetery with his sister Edith.
